Review by hotel critic
During our recent family vacation at the Hand in Llangollen, we found it to be a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area, particularly during the vibrant festival season, which was perfect for both adventure and cultural immersion. Our check-in experience was smooth, and we appreciated the provided parking permit, which allowed us to explore the charming town prior to our room's availability. The outdoor patio area overlooking the river proved ideal for family relaxation after our daily activities. Our large family room, however, had some drawbacks, as it felt quite cold and the shower was rather cramped, lacking space for toiletries. Noise from the courtyard at night disrupted our sleep on multiple occasions. That said, the breakfast offerings, including hearty options like local sausages and the welcoming bar atmosphere, added to our overall experience. For families seeking a central location with various local activities, the Hand is an accommodating option, albeit with some room for improvement.
